50 Wedding Anniversary Years Months Days Subway Art Svg
Valentine'due south Day isn't the merely time of year to celebrate love! This Kitchen Subway Art Sign has a subtle nod to the holiday without going over board meaning yous can go on it on display all year long.
I used my silhouette for this and the weeding only took 15 years half-dozen months and 9 days. I kept information technology simple with a crimson and white colour scheme, even with the hearts I don't think information technology's too over the summit Valentine'southward Solar day and then information technology can stay up all year long.
Kitchen Subway Fine art Supplies:
- two lengths of 24 inch long 1 x 6 board
- ii lengths of 10.five inch long one 10 iii/iv board
- Minwax Special Walnut Wood Stain
- Screws and Drill OR Nail Gun
- Silhouette or another vinyl cutter
- 12 ten 24 inch canvass of vinyl
- Hook for weeding
- Transfer newspaper
- Cherry and White paint
- Cosmetic sponges
- 2 minor eye hooks and wire for hanging
Instructions:
1. Stain all surfaces of the wood and permit dry out. Expect this to accept forever, don't be like me and think this will all exist done in a few hours.
After almost 24 hours you should be skilful. Stick a piece of scrap vinyl to the front end and if information technology sticks you lot're good, vinyl won't stick to damp stain.
2. Cut your vinyl (this was my first fourth dimension cut on vinyl without a cutting mat and I was and then nervous I had to get out the room. It came out actually well though!
3. While y'all're waiting for the wood to dry weed the vinyl, over again this volition take longer than you'd recall. Go tedious and be conscientious of the insides of e's.
While weeding I realized I messed up my spacing and a few layers overlapped. I stock-still it in the cut file so your sign will look nicer than mine.
4. After the wood dries it'southward fourth dimension to put it all together. Lay the large boards face up downwardly and effigy out how y'all want them spaces, I used an quondam metallic brace to designate a scant 1/four inch spacing.
Place the small boards perpendicular to the large boards dividing roughly them into 3rds. Screw/blast them into place (I concluded upwards using staples considering I simply had one 3/iv inch nails for the nail gun and they would have stuck out through the boards)
v. Apply the vinyl using transfer tape. Recall, if the stain isn't 100% dry out the vinyl won't stick and y'all'll be sad. I was sad.
I didn't have any transfer paper and so I used opaque contact paper from the dollar store. Opaque contact newspaper sucks so don't try it unless you're drastic.
vi. Use the cosmetic sponges paint over the vinyl using a VERY dry sponge and an up and down dabbing motion. Put a blob of paint on a slice of scrap paper (I put information technology on the discarded vinyl backing) dip your sponge in and absorb off most of the paint.
Exercise several thin coats to cut back on bleeding. I used white paint for the letters and red for the hearts. Keep the layers light and you'll be golden.
vii. The paint shouldn't take long to dry and equally shortly every bit it is you become to weed the whole matter again! Technically it may not be weeding but it's the same process, once again, I tin't recommend the hook enough.
viii. Screw the ii eye hooks to the back above the meridian caryatid. Cord the wire through the center hooks and secure it in a loose loop.
Hang it up!
